30 years ago I winter trapped beaver with a buddy in Hurley, we had to swing by the post office one morning and pick up the beaver carcass the neighborhood dogs dragged in. Lol. Postmaster knew how to call.

There was a 4' high carcass wall on bot sides of the pathway from driveway to fur shed. I Saw this with my own eyes in 1986 and for years after at Merlin Lands house.

Hundreds of skinned animals. Fur buyers backed up with heaping trucks of in the round animals for him to put up.

He eventually got a form of tennis elbow. What an awesome sight though!

My coon and bear hounds back in the day lived high on those beaver carcasses.

When you see the man of the house drinking coffee in his hip boots in the kitchen and they are not for a BS session.

There are dead furbearers hanging from fences, low branches and other random places drying in the wind.

I am very fortunate to have a wife that doesn’t mind or at least doesn’t complain about my trapping or taxidermy experiments in the house. Im sure she doesn’t like it but she loves me enough to tolerate it.
