Starting to get a couple calls each day (different numbers calling) and when answer it is the auto "We have been trying to reach you. This is your last call. Your car warrenty is expired or about to expire". I know long time ago could put a block on them on your home phone but that seems now to be gone. I block each call to the cell but like said then get a different number with the same message. Any way to get around this?

They're spoof numbers. They're.not the real number of the place calling you, it's just a fake number basically chosen randomly. They can switch numbers at will and can use hundreds of numbers a day. There are various aps that can do a pretty good job of identifying them, but nothing is perfect.

there is the no-call list , it is about useless

keep in mind most of these people are criminals and while certain people seem to think you can legislate a criminal to follow the law , 100% of criminals break the law that is what makes them criminals after all.

these places spoof numbers every call can be a different number

they use a new number every day

these numbers can and often are your neighbors phone number.

my aunt got a call from the number of a high-school friend , the friend had gotten my aunts number the called each other and talked neither had called the other previously.

block them as you see them, send everyone to voice mail and call them back , have a ring tone for all the people in your phone book and any number that is not those set to vibrate only

on the home phone we never answer unless you start to leave a message and we wanted to talk with you.

on my cell i have a very extensive list of contacts including the local numbers for our police they call me from time to time so I answer

These car warranty calls must be the new in-thing now. Never got this many before.

I get a lot of scam calls, send money for veterans, cops and firefighters, these calls are computers that are supposed to sound human. Auto warranty, auto insurance. Marriot hotel complimentary stay that turns into give us money for a mexican vacation package. Your student loan debt can be forgiven (never had a student loan) We are going to lower the interest on your credit card. Your amazon account may have been hacked did you just make an 1100 dollar purchase. The other day I won publishers clearing house even though I never entered.

It's simple. If you have an iPhone, go to settings and have any # NOT in your CONTACT LIST go directly to VM. with "please leave a msg" . If they don't you'll know it's a TeleMkT. They usually hang up after 2 rings. After there's no VM msg from a friend, scroll down to the bottom of that # and "block contact" :-)

Answer don’t say anything the machine is voice activated just hang up. If they call and you take the bait they sell your number as a active number.

Don't answer anything! . . . let it go to VM.

Havn't counted lately but have over 400 blocked calls in my phone, If the caller isn't in my phone book it goes to voicemail, no message it gets blocked, If you ever answer , they know it's a live number and pass it on.

Had 3 yesterday, and 1 so far today. They seem to come in spurts.
The no call list is a joke...

I got a call like that from my own number. It was weird.

I get calls from folks wanting money for police causes. I always ask what percent of my donation would go to the police, and they tell me 10%, and sometimes 15%. They keep 85 - 90%. It's a money maker for the folks raising the money, not for the cause they're raising it for.

I used to block scam numbers until I realized they were spoofing and continued even when I blocked.

The reason why I stopped is because if I blocked every number and they continued calling, eventually I could be blocking numbers that I didn’t want blocked. Potential customers, etc. That’s because i used to block so many calls that were all local cell numbers.

I believe that THIS is the type of issue that lawmakers should be taking up.

If you have a toddler in the house, accept the call and hand the phone off to the toddler.

I think that is also true of organizations like Veteran's "services," help the kids, help the pets, etc., that advertise on TV. $19 a month is a lot of money, and how many of them are satisfied with just one $19 a month from each donor?

I have over 1,000 numbers in my phone. If I don’t recognize the caller, I answer and hang up as fast as possible! This tells the computer it’s not a valid number and is fun for me. Friends call back right away. Auto dialers take me off the list for a while.

Try it, you have nothing to lose!
