What kind of sets are you using? Do you have any urine post sets out? How often are you rebaiting or applying new lure or urine at your sets?

Get a trail camera even a cheap one is better then none. Put it close to your set see what the critters are doing. They may be walking by or may be investigating it.. May not be even close to your set, camera has made me change location from what I thought was good.

Sorry fellas been busy and I wasn’t sure if the above post were for me or someone else ? I mean they didn’t specify I’m just using covered dirt hole sets it is sand that I’m sitting in I don’t use any bait or lures I don’t prepare my traps however I do have a dirt box in the back of my truck I bury all of my trapping gear in let it sit for hours or days and I pull my gloves out of my dirt box that was previously buried and I handle everything only with those gloves? Now I’m no expert but that should take care of any human scent and or any scent from the manufacturing process correct? If not I’m all ears an willing to learn ?? I checked the traps the last 2 days nothing at all was in them no knew sign but it did take 5days to get some action back when I first set them kind of odd or maybe it’s just this area? I remember trapping when I was a boy with my step dad and we would go out set the traps just as I explained and within a day or two there would be a fox or bobcat in it sometimes something else thanks for all of the help

Get some lure

I have some dead scent lure on the way

Make some Dirt hole sets with that lure

10-4 will do 330 trapper would the scent go on a stick in the hole with the trap? Or would the scent go somewhere near the trap outside the hole? I’ve never used lures/baits

Lol for sure for sure just got back from running the traps one was set off but still in the hole and a darn pebble was loged in the trap jaws leaving a half inch or more of opening at the top or the jaws so something was lucky and it wasn’t me lol

The lure has definitely brought more activity to the traps still haven’t caught anything yet did have a fired trap that was moved out of the hole almost the whole length of the chain and gray hair in the area but no signs of digging at the lure hole an to sandy to make out the tracks no circle either I figure I had it by a toenail lol
