I sold 2 different guns in the past. Have regretted it ever since. I don't sell guns anymore. Only buy.

Keep the 870, lose the long barrel, and then buy other barrels. Good old 870s are bulletproof,
as were mossbergs 835s. Never get rid of a proven tool unless you need to.
Good easy scatterguns, or sluggers will be useful i feel.

Normally I would say never sell a gun but if finances are such sell it, through in another $500 if that’s possible and use the money to truly upgrade. Buy one that will be your last one

Don’t ever get rid of a gun unless it doesn’t work. Save and buy what you want. That’s one thing my boys learned from me, don’t ever get rid of a gun unless you absolutely have to.

There are guys that can do it I guess. Lol.

Maybe he will borrow a friends (which will probably be outlawed to do) until he replaces it with a Biden approved double barrel.

And ALWAYS keep extra money put aside for those folks that are hard up and have to sell a gun cheap! Got a little Tristar 20ga O/U for $150.

My wife and I have a rule. We don’t sell guns, we only buy them.

I would take your cash and if the dealer won't give you fair trade in on the 870 wingmaster then pay for the new gun then sell the old.

the market for sale is as good as it gets , however the 870 long barrel without choke tubes probably won't bring as much as if it had a shorter barrel right now.

clean it up real nice before you go to sell to get top dollar

the issue is likely going to be finding the new gun in stock some place , if you do buy it.

What don’t ya like bout it’s performance with duck loads.?
Did you pattern it with those loads?
Did you pattern it with a variety of loads?
Did you know About 50% of shotgun barrels do not shoot were aimed often, and need straightened/bent/trued up.

Furstroker is right, they are bulletproof and needed the LEAST repairs Back in my gunsmithing days.

I wasn't happy with it not fully ejecting spent shells. Like I said it might have been from me short stroking it, and I tried a few different brands and it happened with all of them. If it was a short stroke issue, then that's enough of a reason for me to get a semi.

pump shotguns under 450 have been sold out since June

when new gun owners got that first stimulus they heard a pump gun was a good value and good all around gun they bought them all up at every big box store in WI

Fleet farm the last 3 times I have been there has had almost nothing for pump guns , the couple they had had long barrels and price tags over over 400

they had a couple over under and a few 410

steel and #8 shot have been the only thing on the shelf for ammo for them
