In early November I ordered a 12 x 20 IPSC silhouette gong (5/8 thick)
After 2 months of waiting a package arrives today... 1/2 thick 7 x 12 silhouette.
Fairly PO'ed but not sure I wanna wait a year for them to make it right.
I like a challenge so I guess I'll see if I can hit it at 700+
Good grief.
Mike

Sellers have a take what you get outlook now China is the worst at it. This Covid crap has made a terrific excuse for pathetic and slow service. Remember the scene in Lonesome Dove when Gus instructs the barkeep on the consequences of 'dawdlin service'? I'm about there. Mike

Good Lord, people will buy anything nowadays. Why not go to the junk yard and pick up a chunk of scrap RR steel.

I would absolutely call , let them know what happened , let them know how long it took.
let them know they can have those targets back soon as you get the right ones , a fella needs some thing to shoot while you wait.
they can send a pickup tag in the box with the new ones.
it's a phone call , make it and let them make it right.

Good Lord, people will buy anything nowadays. Why not go to the junk yard and pick up a chunk of scrap RR steel. it would be a rare piece of scrap steel hardened to the point of these plates ar500 or ar550, when you shoot soft steel with a rifle at 100-200 yards you blow right though it at 300 and 400 a deep crater , smaller craters the farther out you are but it eats up a target and is dangerous those craters can send parts of bullets back. a hardened plate the bullet turns to lead dust , a good quality plate will take thousands of rounds where a typical steel plate even if you did shoot it from far enough to not get bullets back it would be shot up in a few hundred rounds and not so cost effective.

Good Lord, people will buy anything nowadays. Why not go to the junk yard and pick up a chunk of scrap RR steel. We get it... You worked for the RR. You don't have to remind us of it every 20 minutes. And guess what professor? I tried that. You MIGHT find a piece of track or the occasional tie plate but nothing suitable for the intended purpose. The RR here loads their scrap into gondolas and take it to the major yards for recycling. My local yard doesn't have any. Mike

Isn't RR steel just regular steel? Seems like it would make sense for the contact surface of the wheel to be Abrasion Resistant (AR) steel but I can't think of anything else on a train that would need to be resistant to abrasion.
