Been trying to get the most out of some of my equipment lately. I never really liked my table saw all that much. It's an Hitachi and just not very high quality. It's ok for what I do but a nice cabinet saw is in my future someday. This is supposed to have a 3hp motor but I think that is an embellishment. It has always seemed underpowered. Anyway, I have always used box store 10" blades like Dewalt, Freud, Irwin among others. Normally general purpose though I do have others. After doing a little research I decided to give CMT a try. It is my understanding that they are trying to compete with Forrest. I've never used a Forrest blade probably because I don't have $150+ to spend on a 10 saw blade However, this CMT was somewhere around $50. I bought a thin kerf, general purpose 40 tooth and received it today. I knew something was up when I cut myself twice just getting it out of the package! crazy To say this thing will cut is an understatement! It cut through a 1" chunk of white oak like butter and didn't even make much noise. Made beautiful cuts on .75" finished plywood that I didn't even think possible with a general purpose blade. So far, I'm sold. The carbide is even thicker and these can be resharpened. If you don't know about CMT, you may want to give them a shot. I'm very impressed.

I BELIEVE IN MY GOD, MY COUNTRY AND IN MYSELF.

helped my BIL in his cabinet shop a few days here and there. He uses Diablo for rough stuff and the CMT blades for the finish stuff. Your right, they cut very well. And as a plus he found an old timer near him that would re-sharpen any of his blades for like 3 bucks each. He told me he had never had to have the CMT blades sharpened unless he hit a nail or some other chunk.

CMT has made good products for a long time. Glad you are happy with it

Think kerf blade will generally benefit from the use of blade stiffeners / stabilizers. might take a look at them

Myself I don't care for thin kerf blades. I use Amana "Prestige" series blades 99% of the time. With them I can do glue line right off the saw.

For a sharpening service I use Dynamic Saw out of Buffalo N.Y. , they do excellent work.

I use some CMT blades and they preform very well, a lot of people that are new to woodworking believe their blade is dull when it really needs a good cleaning. If you want to prolong the life between sharpening, cleaning is essential some guys use oven cleaner or brake cleaner but this can break down your insert glue and present a hazard. Rockler has this kit on sale often, good for saw blades and router bits- I pour it right back into the bottle after use, it lasts for years.
