Do you, or would you use a Wal hanger if it was still real strong?

Yes, just use them in places theft is a minimal risk.

Nope. That's why they're a wall hanger. Nice decorations of yore. laugh

Not if I wanted to keep it for sure. Even in low theft areas I found out last week things can go wrong with your set regardless of how many time it worked perfectly in the past.

I'll trade you a new trap to it. Then you wont have to be stressed with that decision.

It would depend on the value. If it is worth a lot more money than a new on it can stay home. I can't see taking a $100-$300 trap out to set when I can buy a new one for $20 or less.

Many of my traps are old. Not sure if they're considered vintage, but they're definitely old and I still use some of them

I have set most of my "collectors" but I never paid much for them. Some are worth a few bucks, but worthless to me if I can't put fur in it at least once.

I use a few vintage traps that were left to my by trappers no longer with us. I set them once a year, just to let those trappers know I appreciate them being left to me. It brings back memories of them when I make a catch.

I wouldn't set them if they're worth a fair amount. Vintage traps need to be displayed and honored in that way.

I would set it for it's designed target animal.
After the catch I tan the animal and it makes a nicer display of a vintage trap
Just my opinion

I have some no 4 Newhouse's that get out now and then for beaver as well as some Herters 0s that get out for gophers and weasel and some northwoods no4s that were my first beaver traps and still used all get used simply because

Don’t really have any wall hangers though I know some of what I do have are considered collectors to me they just have good memories so they get used
