It would depend on the value. If it is worth a lot more money than a new on it can stay home. I can't see taking a $100-$300 trap out to set when I can buy a new one for $20 or less.

I have set most of my "collectors" but I never paid much for them. Some are worth a few bucks, but worthless to me if I can't put fur in it at least once.

I wouldn't set them if they're worth a fair amount. Vintage traps need to be displayed and honored in that way.

I have some no 4 Newhouse's that get out now and then for beaver as well as some Herters 0s that get out for gophers and weasel and some northwoods no4s that were my first beaver traps and still used all get used simply because
