Yes. If it's a common one or in poor "collectable" condition it really doesn't have any more value than an ordinary user. Providing it's in usable condition of course.
Poor people have poor ways.

I have a Newhouse 4 with a replaced dog and not very readable pan that gets set, lots of old muskrat traps, heck, some traps I bought new are over 50 years old, are they vintage now, I guess I am, still trapping.

Next season I'm going to do what Cohunt mentioned . I'm going to use one of my Diamond 34 spiral springs to catch a coyote ( on private land ) get the coyote tanned and display them together .

Had one of Gramps DLS set for rat and a fisher blew it up. Big smile as fisher season is too complicated here and stars were not aligned.
Caught one coyote in a 3n and one miss in an old 3 jump.
How old is vintage? Maybe many of mine.
I try and set one of Gramps every season.

Nessmuck, that old B&L double underspring is what I have in my top dresser drawer when I leave on vacation, The narrow pan has a fake 20.00 bill wrapped around it. I have fake gold chains and old cell phone next to it. Chain is bolted to drawer. I was burglarized once, when on vacation. If i ever get hit again, there will be some DNA left behind. State Cops were useless; could not get any prints in my house. I recently bought a couple B&L 40's on T=man. So to answer the question: Yes, I still deploy antique traps

Dont set the old ones with forged springs. The metal gets brittle with old age and you could snap a spring.

I run old traps all of the time. If they are just user price i run them if they work. I love long springs for beavers and some of my Victor #4's are real old. Victor 3N govt traps are still absolutely great traps and have a place on my line. I usually end up selling them though because folks like to spend a lot of money for them. Way more than i think they are worth.
I was using a Good Luck#0 for muskrat back in the day until i found out how "Nice" of a wall hanger it was price wise. It has since been hung up LOL.

I'm going to answer this question from the perspective of the trap.
I'm vintage and I still want to get used.

Vintage-yes if it’s not valuable. If it’s worth more than a brand new one.... probably not. I use a lot of older, but good traps in high theft areas. I save my newer and expensive traps (made in USA always) where theft is less problematic. I use a lot of Victor longs and older 1.5 in high theft areas. I have some vintage traps that are not valuable but they are some of my favorites. Old style B and L longsprings and also Montgomery dogless traps are some of my favorites.

Scott, I have a coyote, a wolf, and a spotted up cat hanging with some old DLS that would darn sure still be up to the task. This thread has reminded me of how bad I want to take them out for one last dance.
