I think that Yanmar are the best small diesel engines around. I hardly ever get to fix one other than doing maintenance and injectors because of old and or dirty fuel. Had a friend with a smaller Lamar that had sat for over 10 years next to a pond and had a tree grown through the chassis. I drained the oil and fuel, filled it back up and put a new batterie on it and drove the thing out of its hole after cutting the tree down. The neighbor asked me if I was finally scrapping the thing when I started, I told him I would race him for the pink slip of his fancy Kubota that afternoon with the Yanmar. Should have seen his face when I turned up at his door with the thing. Yeppers ya can't go wrong with them. They used to build John Deer tractors up to and including 100 hp and The Deere still uses their engines for the compact and utility lines. I run a YT235 and love that little thing. Its a beast for its size for sure.

Just to add to this. When I got my tractor I told the folks there that i do my own repairs and maintenance on the engines and if they want a hand I would be happy to help out now and then. He said that they hardly eve see Yanmar tractors again once they are out the door. Yanmar has been building diesel engines for darn near 100 years now, so in that time they have leant how to do it right I guess

Branson are good tractors for sure. I would have bought one when I was looking but the dealership is to far away for getting parts if needed. But I did have them on my short list. Stay away from Mahindra whatever you do. The fit and finish on them leaves something to be desired.

A little tractor makes the world of difference when you are working on a patch of land. You will find uses for it and build attachments that you never thought of before.

One of my brothers had a little 24 HP Yanmar and was always having trouble with it. He finally traded it away and bought a new Mahindra...and has had even more trouble. LOL At least the Yanmar had the excuse of being a bit old.

I’ve heard good things about yanmar not so much about mahindra. According to what I read Branson is using a cummins manufactured by kukje. Have heard these are tough little units. Compared to the competitors Branson is selling twice the tractor for less money. After running it today at the dealer I’m impressed so far. Time will tell the rest. Got a picture of it?
