I was around when it was .50 but that was in northern Maine where they're known to stick it to the locals. Southern Maine was probably .35 at the time. Maybe some of the old guys will chime in.

We lose a lot of trappers when prices are low they just fade away it seems like.

I well remember paying around 29 cents to 30 cents a gallon. It sure made it a heck of a lot more affordable to live and to run lines.

If you pay close attention you will note some lure/bait/book, school operators, and DVD dealers slip away from trapping quite often but when they figure out there is a dollar
to be made they sure as heck show up and start their marketing strategies. LOL Ain't that right?
