I was around when it was .50 but that was in northern Maine where they're known to stick it to the locals. Southern Maine was probably .35 at the time. Maybe some of the old guys will chime in. If you pay close attention you will note some lure/bait/book, school operators, and DVD dealers slip away from trapping quite often but when they figure out there is a dollar to be made they sure as heck show up and start their marketing strategies.
