This year's seeds started showing up, I haven't got room like I used to, but I really was disappointed with the junk we got from local greenhouses and grocery stores...none of the started plants were varieties I would have chosen. This year, I'll be back at it with some proven winners Tomatoes: Silvery for tree (was added to my order for free) New big dwarf Bush beefsteak Oxheart Costoluto genovese Black Krim Black plum Gold nugget (yellow cherry) Sweet millions (cherry) San marzano Manitoba Still need Estlers mortgage lifter (sold out already) Canestrino di Lucca is incoming from USA Hoping to get Brandy Boy also
Peppers Sweetheart hybrid - best red bell pepper I've ever eaten Hungarian hot wax Jalapeno m hybrid
Also got some Japanese turnips
Will buy local junk seed for Spinach Raddichio Leaf lettuce Snow peas
What's everyone else's plans?
Just happy to be here.

We're cutting back on Garden Size this year. Me too. Getting too old to supply the neighborhood ingrates. LOL

Too many to list. Latest experiment is brussel sprout seed that I harvested. They are bi-annual (two years to seed) Enough to load Les' greenhouse lol.
Thinking of getting one of those heated matts. It's cool where I will start.
Best thing about garden work is, no one bothers ya.

It's going to be a struggle for me to get these all in the ground, but I am committed to it. I may have to plant some at one of my trapping properties which is unfortunately 45 minutes away... but it is a working market garden so someone will be there to water, fertilize, etc. I am hoping to have 4 raised beds at 4'w x 8'L x 2' deep and 20 to 30 5 gallon pots on top of landscape fabric
Just happy to be here.

I think I'm going to go heavy on okra this year. Going to plant, texas hill country, stewarts zeebest, silver queen, candle fire, heavy hitter and maybe a couple of others.

Been wanting to get my hands on these for a few years now...turns out that unlike Backbreaker, tomato seeds will fly through customs

I just saw a bunch of seeds available at Menards the other day. Would those be new seeds or holdover from last year? For many seeds as long as they’re stored in a dry, cool place it doesn’t matter. One researcher has done studies with tomatoes in particular and has found that germination rates don’t drop off until the seeds are over 10 years old. This year I want to grow brandy wine, sungold, and a couple cherry varieties that I haven’t decided on yet for tomatoes. Anyone have suggestions on good pickling jalapeño? I’m not a fan of real hot stuff but I love some pickled jalapeños
