Better than a chisel for cutting holes for rat sets?

No Jab.

I made a prototype hand auger that has a 5"dia x 12" hole saw type head for boring into winter mrat houses. Worked very well the only season after I made it that I had any mrat houses to use it on. Mrats pop has collapsed by 90% in my area the last few years. This year I only came across less than ten winter houses in waters that 100's were normal. Same lack of mrats has made me run out of them in any number left to under ice trap them with baited BG"s where I would go to a 6" auger(cut overlapping holes) when ice starts getting over 4-5" thick. I trap a pretty set area so when I catch what I think is a safe number I stop for the season.

I've learned enough thru the years to now know that I don't know enough. KNOWLEDGE IS FREEDOM.

I prefer pushups and small huts over drilling through the ice and big huts. I get wet and I'm too old to dig into the big houses. That's hard work.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.
