My daughter in law works at a nursing home here in Down East Maine. A week and a 1/2 ago all of the residents got the vaccine. Last week all of the residents that got the vaccine tested positive (maybe its common). Today my daughter in law has tested positive. She follows the protocol to a tee. They experts are no smarter then a dam coon Thanks.Thats good information to know. "It's not what we don't know that gives us trouble, it's what we know that ain't so". -Will Rogers

Question for those that had the shots. Is there any certification/paper that shows you got the vaccine ? I am figuring its going to be needed to fly international and get into other countries when they open for travel. We got a card from hospital listing dates and batch numbers. CDC also sent a card with vaccines that can be filled out. Not sure why hospital went and made up their own cards. I now have both.

I retired from Pfizer in 2012 (they bought Wyeth, whom I worked for) and if I have to I'll take the Moderna vaccine. Never a Pfizer product. Never, ever. Very Woke political operation with little regard for patients and customers. Money driven and too many zanny managers all boot licking. I was an outcast for sure because my team was woven to the fabric of docs, hospitals, and patients in the middle of our country. The Manhattan headquarters had little time or patience for such things. They were to busy nightclubbing with the WDC elites to care about the patient care aspect. No thanks.
It's no surprise to me Pfizer was "1st to market." No thanks. I'll take my chances with a disease I already had and lived through.
PS> I was among the top 200 of all time in results when I was brought aboard during the acquisition and so somewhere in Manhattan is a bronze bust of me and 211 others who Pfizer honored as "best of the best" in their 120 year history. I didn't really care. I just did my job. It drove my bosses and their bosses nuts to think someone other than them, in their midst, was recognized for such a thing as real world results. Their boot licking didn't get them a bronze bust. I was not popular because I worked hard and managed a team that led the nation in the states of SD, ND, IA, NE, KS, and parts of MO. They literally despised that portion of our country. Upper management and me battled often. They were clueless how the real world works.
Blessings, Mark

Even for those who don't believe that papers are necessary medically, I predict there will be those who call for them in their prideful "self-rightessness." I have papers and I'm better than you sorta stuff. We've seen it before so this is no large guess on my part.
Tiss the times we live in.

According to Fauci (and other epidemiologists) our best path forward to end this nightmare is for enough of the citizenry to get vaccinated so that herd immunity kicks in and we can get back to some semblance of what we call normal. We can open up again for business.
Or we can just wait until most everybody has caught it (and our death toll goes over the million mark) and herd immunity maybe starts to kick in. That would be nature's way... I will admit. Might take a long time to do it nature's way. How much longer can businesses survive being shut down? I'm very thankful to live in a state with a governor that has her head on straight. We have some restrictions, but businesses are open. Schools are open. And the sky has not fallen. Whoda thunk it.

I think moderna has had the highest rate of side effects for those getting the vaccine. So high that you'll be lucky to not get side effects

I lived through the pandemic and am approaching one year out.
I don't plan on taking the vaccine but only because I'm not worried about my outcome. I already had Covid so I'll trust my antibodies to protect me against the disease that is .04-.06% lethal to humankind.
Risk - benefits type of situation = modern medicine.

Seems to me that the democrats say everyone is going to die if we dont shut the country down and republicans say to open everything up and all will be well. Im sure the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Too bad this has been politicized and the truth has been hidden. I will use my own observations and make a decision on what I feel is the best for me and my family. You do the same...

By definition, are either of these truly a Vaccine ? Seems to me like they are some kind of a Pre-Therapeutic. Pfizer is basically a pretherapeuric. Moderna is supposed to prevent infection. I think the J&J one is also a prevent infection one based on reports. Haven't heard anything lately about Astrazenica

Because of transport and storage issues the Moderna vaccine is the one they sent up here. We were told it does NOT prevent you from getting the virus, it only lessons symptoms. Most people have only mild symptoms anyway so I dont see what the vaccine is going to do.
