Check with Numerich gun parts for a replacement stock. Looks like some stocks on EBay.

I am no gun smith either but that stock needs replaced. The only way you get that receiver and barrel the same color is to remove the blue from the barrel and the rust from the receiver then redo both. Make you a hot tank with the steel from a drum. Buy bluing salts from brownells. Can heat it with a turkey fryer. Can try this too. Dixie gun works used to describe this method in their catalog they mailed out. https://www.guntechtips.com/bluing/bluing.htmYou can get ammonium nitrate from those cold packs at walmart. Just read the label. The ones you want contain a small pouch of water and ammonium nitrate. You break the water pouch inside the plastic bag and the reaction is cold.

I collect Remington Master series guns. The 510 is one of the few I don't have. I do have a 511 Scoremaster and they are really nice guns. Also a newer 512 Sportsmaster.
I agree with Danny about the blueing, you'd have to do both the barrel and the receiver to get them to match. That stock looks rough, hard to tell how much internal damage, that would be the deciding factor for me as to whether or not I restore or replace.
If it's not too bad I could pour some black epoxy in there and it might end up looking pretty cool. Would be a lot of work though.
Eh...wot?

I bought an old, old shotgun that was all rusted up. I removed every bit of rust using electrolysis. Google "electrolysis rust removal with washing powder" for the instructions.
Basically, a solution of washing powder in water, a 12V car battery charger, and some wires. It worked amazingly. Had to move the wires around a couple of times to get the electricity to flow to every part of the gun but it only took one day and the rust was gone.
One the rust is gone, I don't know how much pitting you'll have but if the metal is good, you can find home bluing kits that work pretty good. I've done a couple and they weren't factory good but good enough for a gun that gets used.

Or you could do a rust blue on the barrel and receiver at home. You weld so building a boiling tank would be easy for you. Since the receiver is already off you could probably take it to a machine shop and have it tapped for a rail pretty cheap and you would be sure it was tapped concentric to the rail.with a built tank you could also just do acoustic blue .adios that stock it ain’t worth the trouble or money to fix.

Whatever you do please don’t completely ruin it by trying to polish the receiver in a tumbler. That just ain’t the right way to do it unless you want it to have a ”melted” look....

I am pretty sure I have a solid stock if you need one. I have a whole box full of Remington 22 stocks.
I have nothing clever to put here.

epoxy scope mount? When you can screw the rail on top, to convert it to a Grooved Receiver? Brownells sells those rails. Do you have 6-48 taps and drill? Gnarly Gorilla has that kit for $11, and so does Brownells of course.
As for that receiver, I would buff it down and let your guy blue it and check the match. If you didn't like it, you could always spray it. Yeah it's what all the rimfire guys advised. A couple different things can be used apparently and if I ever get sick of the mount I can just hear it off with a torch Drilling and tapping hurts the value yadda yadda. That being said I don't have to tools I'd feel more comfortable with doing such a thing right now. But I am looking at a drill press next pay check if I got enough after bills

The termites didn't get very deep in the wood at all. Mabye a 1/4" .I was considering taking a coping saw and drill and seeing if I could make it into one if those sticks with the adjustable cheek peice. Don't seem too hard to do just gotta cut a little this and that ,epoxy in some round stock and rounded nuts....

Honestly I think bluing is the one thing I'm going to let somone else do lol. Seems easy but idk not something I really wanna mess with for a few reasons. I'll try and ask my manager what his rates are.
