I was wondering how many of you use pan covers and how many use underalls I had a pan covering on three of my traps but when we got a wet snow it set them off I tried the same but with pillow stuffing as an underall, and it did not set them off from the weight of the snow.

Been years 70's and 80's but used wax paper for my trap covers.

Did you have to worry about the snow setting them off?

I use blanket poly batting about 1" thick cut into shape and have good luck with it. Same thing as pollyfill.

You have not got near enough pan tension, if snow sets your traps off! For coyotes, 4-6 pounds, and I like the upper side of that. My problem is getting enough pan on them!

What kind of traps? Spring pressure alone should give you enough tension that snow wouldn't set them off.

It was a wet snow and there was a clay like soil that could have frozen unless it was just a deer. For the traps I was using I had a 1.5 duke coil spring and an old victor #3 long spring
