I see more Fox squirrels in heavily populated suburban areas as opposed to big woods these days. I’ve also noticed seeing more Blacks than I can ever recall seeing them especially in SW PA. I was always told of great Squirrel migrations and I wonder if there’s something environmental causing the shift? Idk. Just glad there’s enough to provide for some fun afternoons.

I have noticed the same thing in my area. I quit shooting fox squirrels for a while but I have recently figured out that they have adapted mainly out of the large woodlots where they used to be thick. If I hunt a large woodlots, all I generally shoot is gray squirrels. If I go hunt our smaller 2-5 acre patch woods and fence rows, I run into almost exclusively fox squirrels. That seems backwards from what it was when I was a kid, but it is the reality here now. Squirrel hunting with my suppressed ruger american is my favorite outdoor activity I would say. Nice shootin' fishnhunts!....What kind of can do you have?
