Just got my second of the flintlock season tonight...I bought it for myself for Christmas after a crappy rifle season. I hunted with my 9 year old all archery season. He missed a doe and had a chance at a buck. Rifle season I watched someone else tag a doe I shot and I missed another. I bought a flintlock and filled two tags in the Big Woods. Turned out to be a great season.

Congrats CoonsBane.

I love the late season, it's my favorite deer season. I got my flinter back in 2013 after the PGC switched my area from centerfires to primitive weapons only in the late season. I used to be in an SRA. Last evening's deer was my fifth with it since then.

I've missed a few too. Flintlocks can take a bit of time and practice to master.

Eh...wot?

The first one I got I missed on the first shot. She watched as I stated to reload and then trotted off. A few minutes later she came back trotting right at me and I took the shot at ten steps. She darn near had powder burns on her. I'm sure the patch hit her.

This was way too much fun. I have definitely found a new hobby.
