I realized I have never target mink while reading here and today I saw som tracks I thought were probably mink. So I dug a couple pockets and sat 2 with 1.5s and one with a 220 garding them. I'm betting I get coons but would like to get a few mink since it's my first shot at targeting them. I caught one in a blind culvert set but my target at that time was coon.

Its pretty exciting cant wait tell the morning.

The 220 is mighty big for a mink. Lots of space to walk through without getting caught. If you have any super thin wire, you could run it across the trigger to increase your chances. Good luck.

Sure hope you like catching coon!
My coon numbers doubled after I started targeting mink.
The last 2 years I have tried my best to keep the ratio of mink to coon below 1mink to 2 coon.
Last year it was a 1 to 1.76.
This year it was 1 to 1.96.
Both years I ended with over a 100 mink so in my opinion those are some pretty solid numbers.
If you want to avoid coon then experiment with snares.

Ps. What LT said is spot on. You will learn to love the smell of mink musk.
