I trap an area that’s about 150 or so acres and has always been teaming with fur but so far have only caught one bobcat. Been snow on the ground for about 2 weeks now and I can’t find a single track! But area is teaming with small game like rabbits. I am the only one who traps this land, what happened to all the fur? Should I pull my traps and move to another area?

Distemper or some sort of disease die off? If they aren't there you might as well move on.

I can cover almost all of it by atv going down fence lines, gates, roads, old hedges, you would think you wood see some sort of track, I’m not even seeing coon tracks! So weird I’ve never seen anything like it!

I've had parts of my lines go dead like that. Sometimes it takes years for them to recover. I always figured it was distemper or something similar.

Time for an unattended bait station...if you build it, he will come?

Same situation as me, but we have three coyotes rambling threw our hay fields I have a hunch if I go deep enough into the woods I may hit foxes eventually same might be true for you.

If you have a lot of prey species I am guessing so does all the land around you so the predators have a lot of places they can den up or roam and your land may not be where they are needing or wanting to be. If you have fox, coyotes, cats etc. 150 acres is a half mile square and not really much area when you consider how mobile predators are. If you don't have trapping and a lot of prey species you may be a preferred denning site later if they don't feel stressed out or fearful.

With the current fur market,Hang up the traps, and start small game hunting that farm. At least you can eat the rabbits, squirrels, grouse, turkey etc..
