Lost a coon the other day because of a loose trigger, I didn't know about. Its my only Bridger Trap. I sure wish Tim Caven would Fix the issue on all his traps.

Idc if he raised the price by 1-3$ and put #2 american chain made it with two swivels and fixed all the other issues with everything from 120-330

I'd buy multiple dozens at a time. they'd be the new Belisle!!
Or the MB Body Grip line

I had to file the dog 3/4 the way through for it to not wiggle.

Easy way to fix your problem.

Next one, grab trigger in vice by the rivet and tap dwn on top of trigger.

you obviously have no idea how to tune a coni trigger. you shouldve left the dog alone. listen to hippie above. 2 taps with a hammer and the slop is gone. If it was a coon, it most likely climbed over the trap, firing it. in my opinion, the trap is set way too low, for a 160 targeting coon. if you think you need more chain and swivels, add them.

Good advice from hippie and fossil. I'll also add that that will teach you to set and tune all your traps before going afield. Most traps need a little tweaking or modification. Especially conibear triggers on budget minded traps.

Yeah because I've never done it before or had to do it. I appreciate the advice so far

You'll want a Vice and a bench

here's 2 very inexpensive..under $30 they are probably cheaper at a local thrift store or pawn shop. Or Harbor Freight or Northern Tool.

1 clamps on a table and the other bolts on

Bolt ons are stronger and has that lil anvil on the back too.

a loose trigger has nothing to do with loosing a critter a loose trigger will allow an animal to move father in the trap and result in a bad strike location like a suitcase still produces the same result if the animal fired the trap and couldnt go over i would say the coon reached in and hit triggers with its leg instead of sticking his head in

Yes, hold it with visegrips by the rivet and tap the top down. Triggers are thin and flatten easily.
