I work in a large mine here open pit, and in the truck shops fixing the hauler trucks, I come in contact with lots of people every day, and also work on rotating shift's of day and night.
We were tested every week for four weeks prior to that we were tested ever two weeks, we are back now to every two weeks.
In that short period most everyone knows someone taken out of work due to Covid, with the short nasal test, the only common thing in all out of work people has been the loss of smell and taste, it's come to be much more accurate than the nasal test it's self, some of these people did have positive test, others obviously had false negative test,
Our medical people have told us that most don't lose these sense's unless infected at least five days in, because of our tracking and testing so many people the medical people were able to catch other's early and stop them coming to work with basically a phone call letting them know they needed a test, and a lot of those people asked about their selves having a loss of sense's, Still others did not lose any sense.
This is the thing about this virus it hits all ages differently as well as all individual people differently based on age, immune system, well being, activity, some feel hardly anything but are tested positive, others it takes them to the floor.
My opinion is after all this jabber, is if you feel a loss of sense, either heavy or just lightly, you should test again with probably a mucous test or a deep nasal and not the short nasal test, the second test of either of these will most likely show a positive.
As a side note we are required to wear P95 or better double filter masks while on the foot print of the mine, as well as latex gloves and safety glasses or shields, this is stringently enforced 24 hours a day, because the mine never shuts down employees are mostly all essentials, though some office workers do work from home, they have also contacted covid, but none as yet from mingling with mine workers , the mine cannot afford to not have workers off due to sickness it's one of their priorities to help people stay working
