It wouldn’t be thick enough I don’t think to make the actual boot structure but could you incorporate it somehow with other leather? Any custom boot makers on here?

I found two guys who have made them. Looking at around $1000. Wife wants me to do it. I just don’t think I can spend it.

The middle basal part of the tail would be thick enough I think. Sure would look cool.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Here is a knife sheath with beaver tail inlay. Should work for boots I would think.

Ive seen one pair of beaver tail cowboy boots in my life, was at a state convention in the 80's and they cost 800.00 back then!

Get your tails together and take them to Elpaso there are several boot makers there that will make it happen if you got the cash

They make snake skin boots so i would assume they could do beaver tails, would be pretty dang cool.

I’m going to check with a few of the custom makers in Texas. Might take me a few years to save the money...

Would be pretty neat but I could never justify spending that kind of money on boots!

Boots can be made of most any skin material provided the tanning is a proper tan for that type of skin

As well as having a underneath material to support it, Beaver tails are much more stronger than snake skin and I have a pair of rattle snake skin boots with no under support on the front part of the boot they are holding up fine after 15 years of wearing, you just keep the leather lightly oiled to keep the leather supple and not dry out.

I would imagine any custom reputable boot maker could do a fine tail boot if challenged with the right amount of dollars, you don't see a lot of different odd leather boots as there is not a lot of interest in them, so making them is costly and they are time consuming to do, if done right with proper foot measurements done, bridge of foot, width, length and such, custom anything is not cheap. Appearance in the finished boot has a lot do with selling it as well, you can't have something looking like a over sewn baseball, LOL

However it's very rewarding wearing you own harvest !!
