Does anyone deer hunt in this area? I saw a piece of land pop up on LandWatch and it said- leading county for B&C in Iowa. It would be nice to hunt somewhere after we’re tagged out in Wisconsin and it's actually closer than Northern, WI.

We have relatives just outside of Lansing, lots of deer and big bucks. However I would checkout the availability of tags to you as a non resident, I think they are somewhat hard to draw and pretty costly.

As a nonresident you will be able to bowhunt it every 4 years. If you choose to hunt muzzleloader or shotgun, you can hunt it every 2-3 years.

If you own the land why not become a resident of Iowa?

Good to know- that's a Non-Starter for me

https://www.iowadnr.gov/Hunting/Hunting-Season-Dates - see Page 41 of the Hunting Regulation Booklet. Unless there is more to it, it says if you are the land owner you can get 4 tags a year to hunt that land, one any sex tag and 3 antlerless only. It says nothing about if you're a resident or not. You should look into it a little more.

I'm not surprised if there's more to it. The DNR money cows are very important to them,,, until you hit one with your truck. frown
