I had an old friend call me a couple of days ago wanting a few 22 birdshot shells.
Upon searching I finally found a box, almost full. A box of Winchester crimped in a 50 round box. The price I paid was $ 1.60. When I checked on prices of 22 Birdshot today I found it listed but unavailable for $ 9.99 for 20 rounds.
I was just wondering how long I have had this box sitting around?

At 1,60 I'd say 25 yrs minimum

if it was the white box it was the 1980s in the 90s they switched to silver

A few months ago you could get a box of 50, (federal I think) the crimped ones, for $4.99 at Mills Fleet Farm. The $10 for 20 must be the CCI with the blue plastic cap over the shot.

The brass crimped ones are 10x more powerful than the blue capped cci's

Plain brown boxes are WW ll that they trained rear gunners in the bommers to shoot skeet indoors

somewhere I still have 20 boxes
they were deadly when shot out of a gun that the rifling has been removed
a few trays in the museum were filled, patterned out at 14-18 feet they were deadly with a 2 foot spread

My grandpa gave my dad a box of Winchester slugs with a slug barrel for his shotgun and the slugs had a Walmart price tag is $1.88!

deer slugs at 2 dollars a box were around in 1990 that was often the after season sale price and they were 2.25 or 2.50 before season.
