Wife has also had enough. She has been feeding them here for 4-5 years. She found several big messes in one of our out buildings. She has shot 15 in about a month or so.

When I first bought my farm, I had lots of trees touching my back barn. The red squirrels were living, in large numbers, inbetween the metal roofing and the sagging fiber board underneath it. They filled the space with thousands of black walnuts, which would occasionally become to much and pour out by the hundreds. The nuts were always already eaten. I had a gravity bed of corn in my back barn, that I could not keep the red squirrels from raiding and packing into the ceiling. I hunted red squirrels several days a week, in the evenings, for a couple of months and knocked their population out. I also cut the trees back. My fox squirrel population increased dramatically over the next two years.

I had trouble with red squirrels and chipmunks at my cabin. Victor rat trap does them in real nice with a peanut wired to the pan.

Bruce this is a great thread because I've shot 21 red squirrels at our new place and cut down 5 big old pines. The squirrels had been in the garage and out building pine cones everywhere in piles. Been shooting them for about a month and they just keep coming.

The Presbyterian church called a meeting to decide what to do about their squirrel infestation. After much prayer and consideration, they concluded that the squirrels were predestined to be there, and they should not interfere with God’s divine will. At the Baptist church, the squirrels had taken an interest in the baptistry. The deacons met and decided to put a water-slide on the baptistry and let the squirrels drown themselves. The squirrels liked the slide and, unfortunately, knew instinctively how to swim, so twice as many squirrels showed up the following week. The Lutheran church decided that they were not in a position to harm any of God’s creatures. So, they humanely trapped their squirrels and set them free near the Baptist church. Two weeks later, the squirrels were back when the Baptists took down the water-slide. The Episcopalians tried a much more unique path by setting out pans of whiskey around their church in an effort to kill the squirrels with alcohol poisoning. They sadly learned how much damage a band of drunk squirrels can do. But the Catholic church came up with a more creative strategy! They baptized all the squirrels and made them members of the church. Now they only see them at Christmas and Easter. Not much was heard from the Jewish synagogue. They took the first squirrel and circumcised him. They haven’t seen a squirrel since.

Gonna rig you up a squirrel launcher! Bruce? Lol I made one from a clay pigeon thrower! I had another with a tennis racket mounted on it. Fun times. I have to look see where I put them. Winter was fun as the landed in the snow and a distance could be flagged.
you're only allowed so many sunrises... I aim to see every one of them!
