Pretty common. I have a very similar one hanging on my wall. I'm no expert and don't know for sure but I expect not much. Old bows are not really looked for unless it's something special. Again, I'm no expert.

Check the tips for twisting that will be your biggest worry if it was not stored properly over the years.

New Kodiak are in that range of 600$ I beleive. That one you got I'm guess 250 to 350 but there are quite a few around I would say. JM2˘

you're probably right if you checked out the Fred Bear vintage bow history website you can kinda tell by the material the coin was made of kinda meaning they used up what ever stock was on hand before starting the new batch so its close does it matter probably not Price wise i'll guess 3-400 if you can get 2 people to start a bidding war on e-bay 250 listing it locally If you start a rumor Bidens stopping all bow sales probably a grand (without a string)

It's a 1963, what they call a dog leg Kodiak. What do you think it's worth? I'm pretty sure your right on the date after looking at the archeryfreaks.com

Google "RMS gear" second hand traditional bow specialist, should give you an idea of current prices. I collect archery gear and I live across the other side of the world and have bought more second bows from them than anyone else.

Definitely 1963 dogleg and those are just the serial number. It is not a 1965 model.
Depending upon condition at least $300 or more.

The “dogleg” version was made only one year, 1963. If you would read further on that above site you listed bows prior to 1965 had a different starting serial number each month. Just happens that this 1963 one starts with a 5.
A true 1965 model would have layers of fiberglass overlays on back side of handle as do most other Bear Kodiak prior to and after the 1963 dogleg Kodiak. This lack of glass overlays on the 1963 model made it weaker and prone to breakage in the handle. That is why this was only done in 1963 and none thereafter-too many warranty issues.
