Here is what a 1965 Kodiak looks like. Notice the two layers of fiberglass on back side of handle. Also from 1965 onward the Kodiak contained the letter L in every serial number until 1970. The serial number is above pictured 1963 Kodiak has two letters, which all Kodiak had prior to 1965.

Off the subject a little bit but ,If you really want to get addicted to Fred Bear pick up a copy of his book .... Fred Bears field notes. Great read amazing archer . Your bow should sell for at least 400 providing no limb twist or cracking of the fiberglass on the limbs .

Thanks for the information guys. I only paid $160 for the bow thinking it was worth at least $250. I'm hoping to sell it and didn't want to unpriced it when I listed it. And wanted to have more knowledge of it when someone asked me a question about it that I wouldn't look like a fool. Thanks again guys your awesome.

Now you guys have me searching.
Early stamp leather handle ambidextrous.
I find nothing, hmm.

I gave an old one to a Brother but never sold one.
He shot a lot with it.

Those old bows are really cool, it's what I started bowhunting with in the early 1970's and they are a crafted thing of beauty. Found one at a garage sale a few years ago for $15. Supposedly worth about $350 but I can't bring myself to sell it!
