hammer to half , load one skip one load 4 more hammer back hammer down your on the empty AKA how to load a SAA in the dark well I finally upgraded the trap line pistola did it just before the change over in regime got a chance to get out and shoot it for a couple minutes yesterday after work the Wrangler is easily a pound lighter and can be carried safely on 6 hence no more load one skip one load 4 more not exactly sure what took me so long to get the wrangler I knew they were good but was busy buying other things they are one of the few things still available and at a reasonable price right now 6 rounds in 25mph winds gusting at a 1/2 liter water bottle that became a target of opportunity before I lost light isn't a proper range review , I will have to get out probably this weekend and give it a good run so far it seems to hit where I was aiming within minute of water bottle my old SAA clone I picked up broken when I was 17 , bought one part made the other and I had a pistola those grips are completely held together by JB weld on the back side the ejector rod broke , I fixed it , the fix broke and I didn't get around to making a new one every screw in the gun shakes loose while carrying it , have to tighten them ever few days of use the barrel starts to unscrew , I guess it was time.

a bear cat would be nice a friend had one he paid 37 dollars for it a his first big purchase at the PX . I offered to make him rich and quadruple his money but he declined. thats ok it is where it belongs with his grand kids and daughter now. he had a relapse of cancer. he was a fighter a great great however many greats it is of the Hero of Massachusetts https://www.newenglandhistoricalsoc...d-maybe-craziest-american-revolutionary/the Wrangler uses the Single 6 pattern so that the grips from the single 6 fit , as well as all the single six holsters.

The Wrangler I got my wife is solid and she shoots it well. I however have a Rough Rider with adjustable Tru Glo sites. It feels good and shoots better. The cottontail I am eating this weekend was taken at 30 paces with it. Wife swears her Wrangler is the berries! She now wants a matched pair...She will get it too. I have not seen another Rough Rider with Tru Glo sights though... Her Wrangler is the bronze color.

I got a bronze wrangler for Christmas. I love it! Nice to shoot and easy to carry. I just wish they made a .22wmr cylinder for it.

I just wish they made a .22wmr cylinder for it. from a sub 5 inch barrel I don't know that the difference is worth the cost and noise if you look at different ammo fired from similar barrel lengths 22lr vs 22 mag , the Mag adds velocity but is 10% more worth the cost and noise if 10% less was getting the job done? in rifle where the extra powder has time to burn it is like 50% more velocity and that is definitely worth it

A friend of mine got one for Christmas and needs to get his old .22WMR mag cylinder from a single 6 fitted to it. It works 2/3 times right now and his rate of fire sounds like your description LOL

Put me down for wanting a Single-six and a Bearcat as well. I have used a buckmark the last couple of years on my trapline, but decided to get a RR this fall when Dunhams had them for $119. I just felt that it was more "utilitarian" than my BM. I was lucky and got a good shooter when I got my BM, but I will say that the RR is no slouch and shoots pretty dang close to as good. It has fixed sights and surprising it hits right to POA. My buddy was showing me the new Sig 22 that he had bought his wife. We were shooting at a soda can about about 15yrds and neither of us could hit the can. I grabbed the RR out of my trapping bag and 6 rounds in the can as it gained distance every shot. He was a little bewildered. My RR has fully exceeded my expectations for a $119 pistol.

If I were going to buy a trapline pistol it would be one of the new SS Bearcats with adjustable sights. My old Bearcat doesn't shoot very close to the sights at all but sure is a handy size. how far off ? which direction ?

I have other people tell me thy can't get them to group worth a darn. the Wrangler has surprisingly crisp sights for a blade and notch it is a nice clean square cut notch and a nice square edge blade that fits nicely in the notch with a little light on each side.

Nice iron Pete.
I love the look and feel of a single action but the one-at-a-time loading/unloading drove me bonkers back before we had constitutional carry here...
Wife heard me cussing my Heritage RR one day and surprised me with a Taurus 992 Tracker for Christmas... Or maybe it was my birthday... Easy to load but ginormous and ugly as homemade soap. It's still in the case, unfired. I feel kinda bad about that.
I always thought a 22 that broke over like the Schofield .45 would be a trapper's dream come true... Nice lines and easy to use... But I reckon a manufacturer would go belly up pretty fast with a market that small.

If the shop in Brodhead has a Wrangler left tomorrow, I may buy it. I have a heritage, but the sights are next to useless.
I'm just a soul whose intentions are good. O Lord please don't let me be misunderstood.
