Hard to show pride now. To many that live among us Americans want to trample our constitution, dont believe in God, not want to work hard, or vote for those that encourage all of that. We used to be strong, not so much anymore. Like I said. Before I disrespect the flag, I'll roll it up and put it away for now, not fly it upside down.

Reminds me of a funny story. Coming home from a fishing trip once and passing by the Coast Guard cutter at daybreak the guys were just putting up the flag on the stern. Upside down. Only took them a moment to realize their mistake and they corrected it. :-)

Flying the flag upside down has nothing to do with politics or pride in ones nation. The US flag code states that "the flag should never be flown with the union down, except in times of dire distress instances of extreme danger to life or property".

It's meant to be a sign of distress to earn others, not to signal your dissatisfaction with which way the current political winds are blowing.

You can fly it half staff signifying the death of our country. Or fly a confederate flag (lower of course) near the Ole Glory flag. That will tick off the liberals. A restaurant near me does. Never heard anything negative about it. Of course, where I live is very conservative.

So, Is the idea of setting the Constitution aside reason for national distress? If not, what could be enough cause? A long time ago I took an oath to defend against enemies both foreign and Domestic. What would be a defining point there? Oh, and civil discourse should be the order of the day here.
