"Supposedly" being the key word here. About once a week or so - whenever its deemed we aren't scared enough I guess- comes the headline "CDC says covid deaths may reach...(insert big number here)."

The number is going to increase simply because of an aging society. I would have expected a greater increase in the growth in the death rate if covid was really wiping folks out.
