Wife took my 11 yr old son to the dr office. They made the the boy sign a medical release or else she could not be in the office or know any of his medical. They said it was becuase of one of the executive orders biden had already passed. What a circus we live in where the parent doesnt even have the right to know their childs medical records unless the child gives permission!

when my oldest turned 12 we were locked out of her my-chart we could no longer see any of her medical records , the gap was neither could they till they were 16 and could get access to thier own my chart.

in the computerization of health care they want everything through the my chart.

this might solve this gap , or it could be a whole new mess.

on the other hand the whole thing is so that your 12 year old can go to the DR. for an STD or to get an abortion without you knowing well except for that hole they will bill you or your insurance and you will see the details of service. unless I suppose you are on a state run or medicare insurance.

Tell the Dr.'s Office to send the bill to the minor . . . they'll pay it from their lunch money, or when they get a job, credit card, etc.

Doesn't matter where you go this is new national law. Of course my son gave us permission, just the fact he had to is crazy!

Been there, done that with a daughter. She couldn't see the doc for most of anything without me present except, issues related to sex. STDs, pregnancy, etc.

Get a new Doctor, year right when it's federally a mandated law, do you think that a Doctor is going to jeopardize his life time of learning because of a parent wanting him to ignore a new law !

Do not ever rely on “My Chart” or similar convenient source of medical records to be accurate or complete.

A parent, custodian, or legal guardian is obligated to pay for “necessaries” provided to a child in his/her care, custody, or control.

Oh and I'm sure I'd find a few medically knowledgeable folks there as well.

What if your child is unable to sign their name, as in 1-4 years old ?
