I have pulled my short line so can't try it this year but has anyone ever tried a silent whistle on a coyote the have trapped? Just wondering what the would do?

I have a neighbor dog that will howl like mad when I use it. For really no purpose other then what they might do.

Asked this same question a number of years ago....no one responded. You’d think there would be a response by coyotes but not sure what type?

Why wouldn't you want it??? Think about how much easier it would make finding a coyote on a drag

That's pretty brilliant , actually.

^ never that about finding one on a drag, that is a good idea!

I was just wondering in spring trying to find some dens if I had a purpose. Like I said I blow that one of mine and that dogs howling at the moon. You need to find the right frequency and tune it to where it works best if you had one in a trap.

Thanks for the input.

I’ve never known a dog to make any sound when hearing one. That would make sense if coyotes did too, but seems like they wouldn’t if already in a trap. But maybe so.

^ not sure if high pitch bothers it's ears or what. It is kind of like it a siren goes off in town and every dog in towns barking or howling. Lol

Years, years ago they used to make a siren that fit in the front tire of a bicycle, a crank was put on it, and we used it to locate yotes, man they would sing when that siren got cranked up. Never tried a dog whistle, but it's interesting.
