When I have my line fully up and running it takes 8-10 hours to check. I’d do more if I thought my wife and kids would remember me by the end of season lol

self employed and typically my slow season -- I still try to bill out at least 4 hours a day which leaves about 8 -9 to trap -- not as young as used to be and can't push as hard.

When I was working 2 jobs I did more trapping than later in life. Yes 4 am came early but limit your sets to a small area then move to another farm . Coming back around every so often thru out the season Skinned a ton of fox and coons on my lunch break at work.. Roll them up and put in cooler or back of truck if cold and stretch that evening. . If you are passionate about it you will figure it out.

Wolves will fish out the odd beaver in the fall.

I usually head out around 5am and get back shortly after 2pm depending on the tides. 30 mile loop in a skiff targeting wolves and marten primarily. End up catching a few beaver in the spring to stay active while waiting on wolf traps.

Always depends on how much walking I have to do and what I am trapping. I am running an hour a day on my check now but if I didn't have so much work I would spend much more.time and set more traps. Hoping to trap more in the next couple months. Self employment doesn't mean you can do what you want, more the opposite. Gotta make bay while the sun is shining.

Wish I had more time to trap....

Vacation time for me. I typically work the first week in November and take the rest of the month off. Then if the weather cooperates I'll take the week of Christmas off too. When working I'll just run shorter lines.

Lol, I’ve mentioned my fears a few times here before. I’m scared of being in water and the dark.

2-3 weeks per property and farthest property is 20min from my door.
Leave a check time of 1.5hrs. That way I can reset after catches. If no catches I’m just real early for work, lol.
