I was reading on this subject last week.
I am moving to Ky. from Il. and they say I will be taking a step backwards. I don't know how they figure those things, but they are full of Shat!!!!
I can not think of any reason KY. would be worse than this hole. I lived in IL felt like a drone in a hive with no value just keep paying them taxes to be treated poorly.

Squash, I spent the first 53 years of my life in NY, and have an old college room mate that live in Osecola (close to you?)
People that have never been in NY don't have any idea of the outdoor possibilities available.
But, in the famous words of an ex fellow worker (who moved to Florida after retiring).
Other than the crappy weather, high unemployment, and high taxes, what's not to like. One does have to disregard some other things, like NYC.
That SW corner where Turtle dale lives is sure nice.

People seem to not consider what goes into moving elsewhere to retire. Moving involves a lot of work, expense, stress, anxiety, and takes a lot of time.
Plus, the grass is not always greener on the other side. Are our lives perfect where we live? No, but if we relocate we will still have most of the same stress in our lives.
Ohio is not in the 10 best or worst and I agree.

I moved here after living in Chicago it was the best move of my life I ever made I have NEVER regretted it, until you have made that move know this heck not only greener but the greenest it has ever been. LOL
My buddy just moved to MO he will never be happier then he is today just a fact, if you stay that is your choice but better is out there. Most folks are anchored to where they don’t want to live be it family or money that holds them back.

Delaware is a terrible place to retire. I don’t know where they get their information. We are full.
Well y’all can come because you’re not going to try and make us even more like the terribly high taxed commie states you moved from.
