If you loved your country you would pay more than they ask for. Today its more like -"ask not what you can do for your country but what your country can do for you". We will always be the true north strong and free.We dont try to keep new Canadians out.We accept them as brothers with open arms. Our new Canadians love Canada and its historical ties to Britain and France. There is some kind of problem in your country where not only immigrants but a good number of your own citizens seem to hate their own country. Its OK though I can see why you are jealous of us. Do you seriously believe your new Canadian immigrants pay more taxes than they are asked for? Keith

Where did you find that old post? Before a professional can immigrate to Canada they have to have a good sum of money to invest here. I believe it was $100,000 years ago, likely more now.

to start I'll just say that I don't believe in paying in to much to get a refund. I don't care if you do it, but I'll pay most of may taxes on April 15. Now for my big complaint. Kid's refund is not coming from taxes paid it. If it was I say OK Fine. That extra money is being borrowed/printed and will sooner or later be the downfall of our economy.
I agree 100%. That's why I posted. Kid, take every penny and tax break they offer. At least that way you will pay them the least amount possible. We need to pay less. Why should our government be sending borrowed money to foreign governments? ~EB~

That’s why some people won’t work or turn down better jobs the work they do is all about protecting the free stuff with the least amount of effort possible put forward. Stay poor collect benefits and have more kids if you want more income easy peasy.

The welfare system we have is a trap. It is easier to not work than it is to work. Food stamps, rental assistance, cash payments, EBT cards, free cell phones, it's all designed to keep people dependent on the government and voting for liberals who won't take it away from them. As you start to generate an income through work, they just start taking away your benefits and it's easier o just get by living off the government than it is to get a job and struggle your way to financial success. It's a trap that sucks you in. This didn't happen by accident. It is a design to keep people enslaved to liberal politicians specially black people.
The Earned Income Credit is a program that is supposed to help get people over the hump and off government assistance. How well it works, I can't say, but the design is to help people who are actually working to have additional tax breaks and benefits so they have incentive and motivation to get off government programs all together. It's only available to families with children so single people (such as women with six kids by four different men) and couples without children cannot access this.
I'm not saying the EIC program is good or bad, but the intent of it seems like the right idea to me. Reward people for trying to get to work and escape from the government assistance trap.

I pay almost $30K a year between State and Federal taxes. If they want to give back 1/3 of it, I’ll take it. For me, I do not over pay. For me it is better to pay on April 15 than to receive a refund. I don't believe in giving the federal government my money all year and have them give it back when I file my taxes. In Fact I take extra money every pay and put it in a stock market account. Anytime I want to add money in goes in instantly when the market is open and when I want money out the $'s are in my checking account the next business day.

I gave up on doing my own taxes decades ago. I used to end up writing out checks for tens of thousands of dollars every year.
Now I submit a couple spreadsheets to my accountant, write a nominal check for self employment tax, and wait for a huge property tax refund.

Hey, Boco forgot to come back and answer the simple, Yes or No questions that were asked of him: So Boco, is your love for Canada homogeneous and equal to your love for Trudeau and everyone else running your country?
If you loved your country you would pay more than they ask for. Do you seriously believe your new Canadian immigrants pay more taxes than they are asked for? Keith
