Can't find one in stock anywhere... Not even Sierra's website.

Thanks CMCF, don't make a special trip...

I emailed Sierra and they were kind enough to get me the info I was needing... Actually above and beyond what I requested.

Good folks there.

First place I looked at Jeff. Alliant had data for a whopping 3 bullets for the powder/caliber I was looking for. None of the 3 were what I needed.

Hodgdon isn't too bad but still fairly limited.

If Sierra still has the line where you can talk to the bullet techs, you can call and they will help you with about anything and it didn't have to be a Sierra product either. I know Sierra sold and is under different management now. I used to shoot matches at the Bucksnort club and would always stop at their retail shop and buy seconds by the pound. I think that has gone away also.

Hodgdon’s data is very watered down. Compare their data for the 7mm stw to what Simpson did with it when he developed it. Totally lame comparatively speaking.

I keep desperately hoping that one day someone will call me "Sir" without adding "please calm down" or "you're causing a scene."

I didn't bother calling. Figured they're up to their necks right now... Email did the trick though. They sent me every listing for the specific caliber I asked about.

Funny you should mention that...

I have done some pretty in-depth research the last few days. And I have concluded that no one really has a clue. The only data anyone can give you is for the specific test weapon they used to produce those results... And that is only for that specific lot of powder of that brand... That specific lot of bullets of that brand... And that specific lot of brass of that brand... Fired by that specific lot of primers of that brand... With that specific pressure testing device.

Change any one of those variables and it's an absolute crap shoot.

The absolute best you can do to be certain your loads are safe is to find a starting point and work your way up and look for physical signs of pressure. Everything else is just a semi-educated W.A.G.
