I love my Henry, but it carries like a boat anchor compared to my 10/22. My Nylon 66 Remington was the best. Light and indestructible, but it's a collector's item now. I guess, I would go with the Ruger 10/22.
The 10/22 is a good gun but on a trapline a break action single barrel is hard to beat because you usually only need one shot at a time and they would be safer.

i like a pistol on the trap line. In a holster out of the way and right handy when needed. Specifically a ruger single six. i have several 22 rifles. i like em all. My 10 22 has been on a lot of adventures. I dont like a semi though for stuff like trapping. Shoot once and you either unload it or have a loaded firearm bouncing around in your boat 4 wheeler or pickup while depending on the safety to keep bad stuff from happening. i dont really trust safeties and hate the name. makes it sound like the rifle is safe while its engaged.
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)
Remington Nylon 66! bought mine in 1965 at Kmart for I think $35 bucks and have shot it more than any gun I have ever owned, actually the 2nd gun I ever owned. bought it as a junior in high school and shot it 10s of thousand times. Back then you could buy ammo at any convivence store and at Kmart by the brick for very cheap even for a kid 22 ammo almost give away on sale. We would go out and just make cans dance having completion. We even made speed loaders out of aluminum arrow tubes which were just hitting the market. Pull the plug pour them down the butt and in 10 seconds back in action. Here is the amazing part in all those years 56 I have never cleaned it ever!! I guess for that money and when I was a kid didnt know how and it just continued. Back then it just got thrown in the back seat or under the seat, dust cold, heat bouncing and very few jams. Most were just ejecting a round and shoot more. Tell me how many guns you can do that with. I also read years ago they were issued to South Vietnamese guerrilla resistance. Gun still shoots straight and accurate and is the ugliest gun I ever owned right out of the box!
