I bought my first new snow blower.
in the last 20 years I have had 4 snow blowers fist one was a 2 stroke toro I gave 20 dollars for second was a Gravely 2 stage 24 inch I gave a friend moving to AZ 40 dollars for 3rd was my dad old one I rebuilt the carb on when he decided he was done with it at 20 years because my mom couldn't start it . dad has some surgeries so mom had to clear the drive way for a while. 4th when my cousin moved to FL he left his snow blower behind my aunts shed , she said just get it out of there that one ran the last 5-6 years
each one was at least 20-30 years old I ran them till something wasn't worth the cost to fix usually 4-5 years
now it is my turn to get the first 20-30 years from a snow blower

Well, I hope it lasts for the long haul. Always fun owning new.
I have one I bought in 1987, so 34 years ago and still runs great and looks great. I bought it through JC Penney's is a two stage, has a briggs 5 horse and has been almost flawless.

no , it is a 2017 new old stock Columbia. My local dealer got some of these when his supplier was clearing out stock.
Columbia is a Canadian name for Troy-built. basically the nicer MTD.
the dealer said he could get parts and service it , he has never steered me wrong on any equipment I have purchased from him he frequently deals in new old stock , if he buys out the older stock he already knows they didn't make any new issues that year and can pass the savings along.

all the controls are in the back ,for the chute tilt and turn and it has heated grips.
the Columbia seems to get powered with a larger engine than the troy built all the troy built seem to have a 243cc while this has a 277cc he tells me that is some where about 10hp
I am also learning French as all the controls are labeled in both.
it does have the drift cutters , heated grips and trigger turn. it unlocks the inside wheel from drive so it spins rights around easily.
I asked about the many cables as cables seem like they might freeze up , he said he uses Aero Kroil to free them up and as preventative maintenance I bought a can form him to start spraying the cable connections early and often. good maintenance avoids so many issues.
found he also has the best price I have seen on the big cans of Aero Kroil.
