Well, the stove is on it's last leg. The wife does not want a gas stove (i like gas stoves),so,electric it must be.
I need opinions on the ones that have lasted for you. Current one is a tippan and nothing but trouble.
Budget is 500-700. Thanks,Sarge

Trying to find a stove in stock is not easy, let alone one you want.

I am with most here....gas stoves are the bomb. That's not a pun. My own house, because I do as I'm told, has a fine electric range. My Bride bought it new a good many years back. It was $1300. I nearly shat myself when I found out, not because I'm one of those stingy types that doesn't want the "old lady" to spend "my" money, but because I am, literally, clueless as to what most things actually cost. Only advice I offer is to NOT go glass top if you do much canning.

We have a Whirlpool glass top that we purchased new 14 years ago. Has lasted well and works good for an electric model. We do have some remorse now as my wife would like a gas stove but she is happy that the kitchen in the basement has a gas stove for canning. (she cans a lot!)

GE Maytag kitchen aid Frigidaire and whirlpool all made by the same company. We bought a Frigidaire 10 yrs ago and hate it. It’s a glass top slide in convection oven. The glass top is a pain to keep clean. The convection oven is nice. Oh and not supposed to use cast iron on glass tops.

I had a GE electric for many years and it worked fine. Have a Maytag gas now, and like you, really prefer gas. If your wife prefers electric you could go with an induction range, best of both worlds. Just be aware that it only works with ferrous cookware. If a magnet won't stick to the pot or pan the stove won't heat it up.

No help here. I can't imagine switching from gas to electric. Putting in a propane stove was the best thing that happened to our cooking.

Whirlpool, glass top, 16 years and we cook a lot. Bottom element went out a few months ago and that was the first issue. Cheap and quick fix.
