Have about 20 of them where I work. Fast to put up. Strong. Dry. But seem to be expensive. Can be deconstructed and moved. Lots of pluses and minuses it may be what you need. The ones I am familiar with are heated with used oil.

GUK, How hard re they to heat? Do the ones you are familiar with have the dbl layer of fabric with the air space between?

Sako, I see them here quite a bit but none are heated, just used for storage. Which I could use a small one for that, but would like to heat a larger one if feasible.

I know a few people that have hoop barns. The barns are supposed to last 15 to 25 years, but the sales people, who sold the barns all claimed they could last as long as 40 years. There are a few hoop barns in my area, that are in bad shape and I don't think they are very old. I know one women whose barn was damaged by rodents where her hay was against the side. Most hoop barns around here are put up very quickly by teams of Hispanics, in just a day or 2. One guy, about 3 miles from here, put one up over the course of almost an entire year. I don't think he worked on it much.

A lot of people, who sell large amounts of free range eggs, have a hoop barn in their bare pastures, with the fabric sides pulled up a couple of feet, for their chickens to get under.

Hard to heat in extreme cold, even with the insulation blanket. But when it is 20-40 below and you get to go into a tent that is anything above zero it is warm. That is the reason for the used oil for heat. The buildings I am talking about are as large as 60x100 and 30’ at the peak.

What they want for them you're better off with pole building, in fact good chance it will be cheaper.
