Phone alarm went off. Tornado warning for my area... Hail falling... Sirens roaring. Looking E-SE of town... Mike

I expect we'll have a bad tornado season. Due for one.

Is that a twister's tail dangling in the middle of the photos?
Yep. Never did touch down though. My wife got video of it... cause that's what Okies do. Lol. If I could figure out how to share the video I would. The other day my wife said the prediction for this year's tornado season was "active." Looks like they might be right. 90% of my life in tornado alley and that is actually the first one I've ever seen with my own eyes. Mike

Thats a baby, it’s not even big enough to walk. Wait till they are 3/4 miles wide at the bottom.I paralleld the one that smashed Waco Texas in a 18 wheeler for about ten miles. I was about five miles south of it. Had another smaller one cross the road about a mile in front of me on highway 2 in Otto Ks. Sucks at night when you are listening to the emergency warnings and it’s raining so hard you can barely see the road and they mention the counties involved then say one just touched down in Otto at the same time you see the sign go by. Then the night lights up from a monster lightning flash and that thing is just crossing the road. Tension doesn’t even begin to describe it. They scare the crud out of me but fascination is there too.

They spook me. I worked a chainsaw after an f5 in '85. The path I worked was 10+ sq mi. Most mature timber with some residential. A twisted s-10 blazer, couple hundred yards from the road is burned into my memory. I do not envy youns guys. But do know you are more prepared. Allegheny National Forest, Forest County Pa.

That tornado that came through Oklahoma in 2000 was a doozy... My buddy lived in the path of it. Their farm and house got leveled. his girlfriend's parents lived a couple miles away. Her dad found a naked picture of his high school age daughter in their front yard afterward.. It came from my buddy's dresser drawer... What are the odds? Lol

I found oddities too, an airplane prop comes to mind. And a lot of scrap. For several years deer hunting turned into scrap/treasure hunting. Guys that were near the big river told odd tales.
