Crit-Ur, I would disagree with you concerning the Beatles. I consider them some of the best song writers of all time. I remember when the had numerous top 10 songs at the same time. Have to laugh at what our Jr. High music teacher said(quoting Mr.Grizwald) "10 years from now,no one will even remember who the Beatles are. That statement was made over 55 years ago. I bought the Beatles first album for 49cents at the Emporium in downtown St. Paul, boy have times changed. I never cared a lot for either Lenon or McCartney as solo artists or their later groups Tom

Cool! 15 or 20 posts and no one has even whispered the name of the most overrated rock band of all time. The Beetles

Lots to choose from for sure-Mid to late 60's was an explosion of music of all sorts. Lots of bubblegum rock, heavy rock, motown, and folk. Always liked Gordon Lightfoots music.Lots of blues rockbands too,Ten years after, and the Who were great english bands. I also liked the bands with the horn sections like Chicago and Lighthouse.
Early 70's before disco was just as good.Led Zed,Pink Floyd,Uriah heep.

Some other very good ones--Gerry and The Pacemakers,The Kinks, The Hollies,The Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield(They were the best known, one hit wonders) For What its Worth ,was their only top 40 hit. Rock and Roll woman should have been much higher rated than it was. The Boxtops,The Mamas and Papas,Hermans Hermits, Jefferson Airplane,The Stone Ponies(Linda Ronstadts first band), The Turtles, The Zombies,The Vogues,The Supremes, The Ronettes,The Spencer Davis Group--and the list goes on and on. Roy Orbison had a wonderful voice and gave us musical pleasure for over 30 years. His last recordings were with The Traveling Willburys--Roy Orbison,Bob Dylan,George Harrison,Jeff Lynne, and Tom Petty. Roy died shorly after the hit single--End of The Line. Dylan and Lynne are the only members of the group, still with us. Tom

Beach Boys and Jefferson Airplane. Actually when I think about this there were a ton of rock groups and individual singers I liked. How about Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Monkees, Dave Clark Five, Crosby Stills & Nash, Herman's Hermits, Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Lovin' Spoonful, Fleetwood Mac, Sly and the Family Stone, The Everly Brothers, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Bee Gees, The Temptations, The Turtles, The Supremes, Jan and Dean and Elvis.

I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Don’t forget Steppenwolf
I was 6 in 1965. At that time I liked Herman’s Hermits and the Monkees
