Anyone have any experience with a coleman mini bike? My 10 year daughter is saving up her money for something special, and we are thinking about finding a used one. Let me know the good, bad, and the ugly. Thanks.

coleman carries most of the parts so can be ordered online if needed. engines pretty standard. when a bolt works loose, retighten with loktite as theyll keep working loose. seems to me the chain was an odd size, maybe metric, but we found a size locally that worked fine. most models i know of have no suspension other than the air in the tires. cheap overseas manufacture, but cheap to buy also. id never buy one used. hope this helps.

maybe google monster dog mini bikes for some other models and options. at 10 years old she might be able to handle a slightly larger model, and monster dog has a few choices in size and style.

Had the 200 ctu or ctu200 ? I think was the model. It was the model with front and rear cargo racks. Was gonna use it for checking traps , but with no suspension front or rear it was too hard on the lower back. Power wise it would easily carry me through the fields and brush just fine.

My son has one and loves it. He's hard on things, but other than breaking a foot peg, it appears nearly in-destructible.

Made it almost 3 years without censor!

Buy a japanese bike. Parts are available, most are reliable and good resale. Worst thing is waiting on parts for a broken bike for your kid. I bought a used yamaha ttr90 with electric start for $500.

I know there was a time period when Coleman prostituted their brand by putting it on any Asian sourced item, regardless of brand equity or not, a mini-bike would be a good example- I'd be leery of part availability. There's not much to a mini-bike that you couldn't fix or improve yourself... I would worry about the Coleman branded motor for longevity.
