Always been told that animals prefer a taint to their meat for easier digestion you might want to check on that plus if they can’t smell it they might not find it as easy.

Split the batch and see what one you like the best when your done maybe both will work for you maybe one early one late. Some of the best lures out there today stink.

Beaver works for me only if it's fresh and even then limited success, tainted works better for skunks. BTO has little or no success for me either. Made up some bait last year using tainted cat with some castor and a little bit of skunk quill, been satisfied with the results. Also made a batch using tainted horse and castor with nice results. Now having said that, I can't say I would have the same results next year as things change and no two coyotes are the same in my opinion. Suggest you make a few small batches and test them with a few fake sets using a trail camera or two to see what kind of results you get from them. Also weather and time of year can effect your results too. What works good in the summer may not work well later in the season and visa-versa. I'm no expert bait maker by any means and still have a lot to learn but earlier this season had very good luck with fresh or mildly tainted deer liver. Making up a batch for trial this summer. Good luck.

A slight taint on any meat makes it work better in my opinion. If you add other ingredients to the meat, do it very sparingly. Keep track of the ingredients and where you use them. See which ones work the best. Castor is great, but I haven’t used bto. You can always just add castor or bto at the set instead of in the bait if you wanted.
