Goldnut- All of those Crestliner pics are making me a little nervous, what's the best way to check transom integrity? Open a bilge inspection hole and check for punkiness (made a new word) with an awl? I'd prefer a more proactive approach, rather than turning around to make sure my E-Tec is still there

Big bubbles no troubles at Goldnuts house. Ken if you have a chunk of scrap marine ply I'll cruise over there and buy it. I used white oak last time and guess what, waste of time lol.

Most use a plastic hammer and listen to how it sounds. A punked transom will give a dull thud.

Looks like a mess Gold... I am currently bringing an 18’ Lund back to life that Bucksnbears found for me. Using UHMD laminated for that purpose. What are you using?

Also you can remove one of the motor mount bolts (one of the lower ones) and inspect the wood.

Jeff, I do not have any marine grade plywood in the shop. What are you replacing? I do have some composite board around. How big of a piece do you need?
