I'm going on 2 weeks since I got it. Days 1-8 were nothing besides a runny nose and loss of smell. Day 8 to present it feels like there is a weight on my chest. Any more than a minute of moderate physical activity I can really feel it in my chest. Smell came back on day 12. I'm only 26 so not a real high risk for complications.

The funniest thing about our COVID stuff was it was over Thanksgiving. My wife cooked dinner. Getting the house all stinky with good smelling food. She was tasting everything all day long saying mmmmm yummmy and all the other things.
She came in the living room and took a nap while the turkey finished up.
We sat down at the table and got our grub on. All the sudden she looks up and goes; "Does this taste ok?" The kid and I were like yeah it's delicious. She takes a couple more bites looks up and goes "SON OF A........ I can't taste anything."
She literally lost her taste and smell in the course of about an hour. So ofcourse being the concerned men we are we kept going "Ohhhh this is so good. This smells so yummy. You should taste this or that."
Need less to say I slept on the recliner that night.
It lasted about 5 days I think. Then one day she goes "I can smell again." It took another day or so for her taste to come back.

Sounds like you may be over the hump, hope your symptoms don't worsen and that you recover quickly.
About this time last year I was over it and back to work... I only missed 3 days of work but it was as about a month before I felt I was back to 100%. My experience with it reminded me more of pneumonia than anything... I cooked with a fever like I've never experienced... I would sweat so much my wife had to change the bedding. And the cough had me wondering if it was actually pneumonia. Wife was around me the whole time and never even had a sniffle.
Of course Covid wasn't even a word yet... It was a month or two before it took off. I didn't make the connection until the news started listing the symptoms... I just thought it was some weird flu or bad chest cold.
But I lived through it.

It was no biggy. Couple days of sniffle, maybe one slight fever. Taste and smell by the time I realized they were gone, they were coming back. Never took a flu shot but one year. That year the flu dang near killed me. That’s the beauty of Mother Nature, even in the same species were all just different enough to ensure survival.

i had all the symptoms last febuary. been around several family members and co-workers that tested positive since then. haven't gotten sick. Sure seems to me like you get at least some immunity from having had it.

I think we are being exposed to different strains of Covid. Medical field is way behind on this. Based on all the responses here it is probably a combination of that and that our bodies handle things differently. It seems like most of the cases Im familiar with locally have been similar to what Im experiencing with this. But other areas its like they contracted a totally differnt virus.

On a related note I got dose two of the Moderna vaccine on Saturday. Woke up Sunday morning with body aches and feeling like I had a cold. Started taking Tylenol and it took care of the aches but was very fatigued and was still a little stove up feeling. Woke up feeling like a new man on Monday, but the aches came back Monday afternoon so I took some more Tylenol. Feel fine this morning.
All that to say, my arm hurt for about three days after dose 1. The side effects on dose 2 were not the end of the world but they were no joke. Seems to be a consistent response in all the people that I work with. Just wanted to share for those that will be getting the vaccine in the future so you know what to expect. If I had it to do over again I would still take it and I recommend that others do as well.

First 4 days , fever, headache, muscle aches and slept 18 hours a day, Day 5 felt better, got caught up on chores, day6 fatigue set back in, heavy feeling in chest, gone by day 8, day 9 everything tasted like salt, day 10 felt ok, caught up on chores and stuff, felt bad of and on till day 15, then over all symptoms. I think it is not the severity of symptoms but the persistance in some, 2 weeks is a long, long time to be under the weather.

Had the "everything tastes salty" thing last Saturday and realized later that evening that I couldn't taste anything. Started noticeably getting taste back yesterday.....probably 1/3 of normal. Could taste coffe this morning, but not 100%. Still cannot smell anything.
Woke this morning and thought ,"Wow! This is over" as I had no congestion amd felt rested. Within 15 min of feet hitting floor moderate congestion came back and I coughed a few times like with sinus drainage. Went and checked beaver traps. Cookin breakfast for the wife now. She is fatigued, but no congestion, no cough, can still smell and taste.
I really have no clue as to what day of this we are on. Noticeable symptoms started easrly last week but who knows as I have had sinus issues my entire life and have had drainage all fall and winter...

I saw on the news the other day that of all Covid sufferers, 98% survive. The other 2% that didn't, most came from long term care or nursing homes.

Bowhunter27295, I think you're very correct on ensuring adequate food intake.
When nothing tastes right/good eating is suppressed, but its very important.
