At least one or two have to poke your thumb getting them out.

I have often thought a blind set in a cocklebur patch would be a good set. grin

Ok- I thought it was just me but it seems like there is a bumper crop of burrs and cockle burrs this year. My wife had one of these in my Christmas stocking this year as a gag gift but she's been using it on my hunting and trapping clothes before the wash (even though I should be). I thought it was a gimmick but she said it works? It was from Duluth Trading for $12.00 and some change.

Not unless you want to spend a whole night picking out porky eggs. I learned a long time ago to scrutinize your surroundings to make sure a trapped critter can't get into burs! That crap gets old real fast. I think burrdock is worse than cockelburrs, it sticks tighter, and comes apart in small pieces that are harder to remove! Remember to roll the bur out of the hair or fur, once you get it moving!

And yes teepee, I seen the grinny face! laugh

I was told to use Pam cooking spray on the dog to get cockleburs out. Not toxic if they lick it.

We got these little pitchfork looking burrs here. Not too hard to comb out of fur but a pain to get off your pants in the fall.

Burdock is bad but what I really hate is when I’m grabbing for the burdock and a sand burr is underneath and the spines go under my finger nails.

What are the black ones, pointed on both ends, about 3/4 inch long? Coyotes are full of them this year.

Or, in a prickly ash patch.

I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.

I hate burrs. I have wasted hours removing burrs from my clothing over the years. I stopped trapping and hunting several areas because of all the burrs.

ADC turned me on to it part way through the past season. They work pretty well. Bought mine at Farm & Fleet for about $2.50 less.

best and cheapest I have figured out is soaking the fur in water for several hours and work the burrs out. The burrs get soft won't get your fingers and work out easy. A few burrs just work them out dry but when they are thick soaking works great. I never use combs or brushes they pull out to much fur with them. I have tried the Pam and no tangles but it cost too much, leaves oil in the fur and too many spots to spray, just soaking works for me.
