You Texas boys still got Catfish Kitchen Diners down there? When I was working in Houston,I used to frequent a Catfish Kitchen. They had a bunch of fish items on the menu,,you could pick any three items,,and eat all you wanted. They had frog legs on the menu,,and that's all I would eat.I LOVE frog legs. They hated seeing me walk in cause I could murder a wheel barrel of frog legs in one sitting. They would try to throw sides at me like fries and hushpuppys to fill me up,,but I said no thanks,,,just keep them frog legs coming!!!! Hahahaaaa

I'd prolly have never tried catfish at a restaurant if all of em had frog legs on the menu!

The local catfish specialist is at Clear Springs TX just outside of New Braunfels and there is a German butcher shop down the road 1/4 mile. I never mind stopping for either on of those places

Yes, still there and the it's still as you describe. There is another place close to Houston called the BBQ Inn. It's been there at least from the 60's. If your in the area, you would not be disappointed.

Had a place like that in LA, Thursday night all the catfish and frogs legs you could eat for $9.95 included french fries ,hush puppies and sweet tea. You would roll out the front door.

We rent a big house on the Ocean every other year on Oak Island N.C. Is it any where near there?

Growing up in Arkansas I caught many frogs and enjoyed fried frog legs. Some 30 years later while attending a seminar in New York City I ordered fried frog legs. I don't know what that restaurant did to them but they tasted awful.

Many of them come from China. If you look at the package at the store, it states that.

Some of the best frog legs I ever ate were lunch at a manufacturer I was surveying in Red China. They served us BBQed frog legs for lunch. I have no idea what all kind of spices and sauce they used on them but they were great.

As a kid, I would take the .22 to the pond and kill a mess, whack the legs off and Mom would fry them up for supper. They were fine eating too.

I'm not Leftlane but I am not far from Junction (26 miles) or Roosevelt (40) miles. My great grandfather came to Kimble County in1876 from Bandera County.

Leftlane is a transplant that lives down around New Braunfels, I think.

I never heard of that catfish diner in the OP but a lot of us Texas country boys don't frequent big cities

The best frog legs I ever ate was at Ma Crosby's in Acuna, Mexico

He was a Texas Ranger that led men against some of the last Indian attacks in the Saline Valley and followed Comancheros into Mexico to recover his stolen horses.

I believe that’s the County my Uncles ranch is in. J&D Hollow Springs Ranch is the name I believe. They had me out several years back to turkey hunt...basically to see if they had any turkeys and enough to be able to have hunts. It’s a high fence ranch and reminded me of hunting Merriam’s rather than Rio’s, lol. Wasn’t a tree over 10-15ft tall on the place, lol.
They took us to some little restaurant in the back of a hardware/feed store that served all sorts of good chow. Even as good as my Aunts cooking. Thinking about going back this Spring for a mini-vacation and a turkey or two. Don’t think they had any coyotes on the property, but had plenty of cats. Guess a fence is nothing to a cat.
