Some those prices are better than what got last season on finish goods, $5 top on mink, better beaver prices there than what I hear of here now

Probably the most depressing thing about our fur auctions these days is the lack of fur. We had a little over 2000 pelts at the sale Saturday. Just a few short years ago we sold 12,000 coon at one auction, not counting all other species. The MTA put on 2 auctions every year and several years we put on 3 auctions. There was serious competition among the buyers. Today with the exception of a few things (castor, good coyotes) it’s obvious the buyers aren’t going to fight over fur. Just the market, I know. Depressing nonetheless.
